Bliss Bridal Magazine has quickly taken the Austin wedding scene by storm. It is a chic and savvy resource for the Central Texas bride. The stylized photoshoots Bliss has featured so far have been tremendous. The creativity of the teams who’ve put together these inspirational “weddings” have really blown me away. It is such a honor to have Molly and Charles’ wedding featured among so much beauty. Check it out!
Denise and Dan’s wedding was my first time shooting at Pilot Knob Vineyard in Bertram, TX, but it has quickly become one of my favorite venues. For starters, it was surprisingly easy to get to from Austin, yet it’s remote enough that it offers all the rustic charm, beautiful sunsets and scenic vistas you’d expect from the Hill Country. While the day got off to a rocky start – a snafu with the stylist sent the girls to Cedar Park to find someone else to do their hair and makeup at the last minute – Denise was the picture-perfect bride, appearing totally at ease and taking everything in stride. You would never guess, given her calm demeanor, how much effort Denise actually put into planning every little detail of the day. My personal favorite detail was Denise’s bouquet. It was GORGEOUS! Denise had it created by H-E-B BLOOMS (can you believe it?!) using a bouquet recipe from Wedding Chicks. So perfect. In the end, everything came together beautifully (thanks in good part to the lovely ladies from Life Styled Events). Congratulations, Denise and Dan!

I was prepared for great things when, after meeting with Molly for the first time, she explained that it must have been fate that brought her to my website. It turns out, Charles proposed on 11/11/11. What a smart man! Little did I know how right-on Molly’s hunch would have been. My recipe for an amazing wedding only includes 2 “ingredients”: personality and LOTS of love. It’s expected that a bride and groom will be giddy in love on their wedding day, but there’s nothing better than a family so filled with love for the couple that they can’t contain their smiles, or friends who will go above and beyond to support them (one of Molly’s bridesmaids HAND-CRAFTED all of the bouquets and boutonnieres from felt … that’s devotion!) The day was filled with lots of special little details that represented Molly and Charles, but perhaps my favorite moment of the day was the vows. Charles and Molly opted to write their own, but Charles decided to surprise Molly by serenading her with a rendition of Brad Paisley’s “Then.” It was one of the most heart-felt moments I’ve ever seen while photographing a wedding. Like I said, he’s a smart man. Congrats, Molly and Charles! Your bliss is infectious.

Look what arrived in my mailbox this week! It’s an advanced copy of the August / September issue of the UK’s Wedding magazine. Owen and Shannon’s wedding was selected to be featured in spread highlighting Wedding’s pick of “the best real-life weddings.” Congrats guys! The four-page spread includes details from Owen and Shannon about how they created their strikingly personal and eclectic wedding. Also included are websites and tips to “steal their style.” Copies should hit newstands in the US in a couple of weeks, so be sure to pick up a copy for some serious wedding inspiration.

From the second I stepped into their venue, I KNEW we had something special in Owen and Shannon’s wedding. Fortunately, the folks over at Style Me Pretty agree because they’re featuring the wedding today on the Florida blog!
